Last call for Arizona farmers to support local school districts through second annual America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education

ST. LOUIS (April 5, 2013) – The deadline is fast approaching for local school districts to compete for a grant of up to $25,000 through America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund. The more farmers who nominate a school district, the more it demonstrates community support and strengthens the school district's application. Nominations will be accepted until April 15, 2013. CAC's STEM program offering free Math Refresher Workshop beginning March 28

APACHE JUNCTION, AZ -- Central Arizona College's (CAC) Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) program is easing math anxiety by offering a free Math Refresher Workshop that is open to future and current CAC students, as well as the general public.

The workshop will be held over the course of six classes, beginning Thursday, March 28, at the Superstition Mountain Campus in Apache Junction.

Dr. Seuss and KPETS visit Santa Cruz kids

For Santa Cruz Elementary School students, March 1st was a special day indeed. They celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss with seven of the most adored reading buddies in Maricopa; four-legged KPETS volunteers who love to listen to children read. Each class chose a favorite Dr. Seuss book to share with a therapy dog and its handler when they visited. Who had more fun? It’s hard to tell.
