Man Caged for Selling Bird Parts
ARIZONA MAN SENTENCED FOR ILLEGALLY SELLING GOLDEN EAGLE AND OTHER MIGRATORY BIRD PARTS
WASHINGTON, DC -- Patrick Scott, 47, of Tuba City, Arizona, was sentenced in Phoenix recently to 30 days in prison, five months home confinement, one year supervised release and a $2,000 fine for illegally selling golden eagle and other migratory bird parts, a felony criminal offense, announced Ignacia S. Moreno, Assistant Attorney General for the Environment and Natural Resources Division, and John S. Leonardo, U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona.

Traffic stop leads to over 900 pounds of marijuana
PINAL COUNTY, AZ -- On Friday, March 8, 2013 at 3:50 A.M., a Pinal County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to stop a 2000 silver-colored Chevy Tahoe with no brake or tail lights traveling westbound on I-8 in the Vekol Valley corridor.
The deputy pulled behind the vehicle to initiate a traffic stop at milepost 149. As he did, the driver failed to yield and instead drove across oncoming lanes of traffic and into the desert. The deputy began to pursue the vehicle, which then suddenly came to a stop after driving into a wash and hitting an embankment. The driver and passenger, both
males, ran from the vehicle and into the desert.

Pinal County murder suspect arrested in Colorado
PHOENIX, AZ – Yesterday, Corey D. Allen, 28, was arrested in Leadville, Colorado by the U.S. Marshals Service. In November 2012, in San Tan Valley, Arizona, the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call relating to an individual being threatened with a handgun. The reporting person, Nicole Frauton, claimed her mother, Linda Perelli-Brown, was being threatened by one of Frauton’s male acquaintances at the family’s home. Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the residence and found Ms. Perelli-Brown shot multiple times. Fire displaces Maricopa family
Electrical Fire Displaces a Family of Three in the City of Maricopa
Maricopa, AZ -- March 4, 2013 -- At approximately 10:00 A.M., City of Maricopa Fire Department crews responded to a reported house fire in the 44000 block of Edwards Circle in a duplex home. As crews arrived on scene, they found smoke coming from the back of one of the home and neighbors outside reporting a fire. Firefighters quickly entered the home, found the location of the fire through heavy smoke, and extinguished the fire in the kitchen.
There was no one home at the time of the fire and no firefighters were injured.
