Leftover permits available first-come, first-served beginning July 30
PHOENIX, AZ - The wait is over -- the drawing results for Arizona's fall deer, turkey, javelina, bighorn sheep, buffalo, and pheasant hunts are now available by going to https://phx.az.gov/app/huntdraw/home.xhtml and scrolling down to the "View results and bonus points" link.
You can also visit www.azgfd.gov/draw and click on the link to the draw results page. Applicants can also find out if they were drawn by calling (602) 942-3000 and selecting option two. Due to heavy call volume initially, you might get a busy signal. If so, you might want to try again later.
There were more than 133,000 applicants for this year's fall draw.
Hunt permit-tags for successful applicants are anticipated to be mailed out by August 10. Refunds will be mailed out by August 20.
There are about 5,389 leftover hunt-permit tags remaining. You can view the list of leftover tags at images.copanews.com/userfiles/file/Leftover%20tags%20fall%.202012.pdf.
There are two methods to obtain a leftover tag. Applications will be accepted by mail only beginning at 8:00 A.M. (MST) on July 30. Starting on August 6 at 8:00 A.M. (MST), hunters can purchase a leftover tag in person with an application at any of the seven Arizona Game and Fish Department offices.
For those who qualify, there are military hunts available for Fort Huachuca. Call (520) 533-7083 or (520) 533-8763 for additional information.
For a listing of leftover permits, the 2012-13 Arizona Hunting and Trapping Regulations, and other drawing-related information, visit www.azgfd.gov/draw.
