Supervisors Appoint Ronald LeDuc to Interim Constable of Apache Junction (AJ) Justice Court
FLORENCE, AZ – The Pinal County Board of Supervisors unanimously appointed Gold Canyon resident Ronald LeDuc to fulfill the remaining term as Constable of Apache Junction Justice Court Precinct Seven.
LeDuc is replacing Jack McClaren who resigned on June 6 to seek the position of Pinal County Sheriff. He will hold the position until after the general election in November, at which time the voters will choose a Constable to fulfill the remainder of McClaren’s term. If there is no successful write-in candidate at the November election, the appointed constable will fill the remainder the term.
Following a 12-year stint as a combat engineer in the Army, LeDuc returned to Arizona in 1993. Before his retirement in 2012, LeDuc worked as a law enforcement officer with Maricopa County, the City of Scottsdale, the Town of Hayden, and the Town of Florence.
McClaren was in his second year as Constable of the Apache Junction Justice Court. Since his resignation was submitted the same day nomination papers were to be filed, there will be a write-in election for the next Constable. All candidates for this election must file nomination papers with the Pinal County Elections Office by Thursday, July 19. Candidates may be from any political party since the vacancy occurred before the first two years of service were completed.
The statewide primary election will take place on Tuesday, August 28. The top candidates from each party who receive the most write-in votes will face each other in the general election on Tuesday, November 6.
