Casa Grande, AZ -- The Casa Grande Regional Medical Center (CGRMC) Auxiliary is pleased to announce this year’s five scholarship recipients. Each year, the hospital Auxiliary awards five $1,000 scholarships to area residents who are pursuing education in the field of healthcare.
This year, 17 applications were submitted from individuals 15-46 years of age representing seven different healthcare careers. Of these seventeen, the following five students were selected to receive a scholarship: Aisha Chavez, who is currently attending Central Arizona College and will be attending the University of Arizona in the fall with a pre-med major; Sabrina D’Souza, currently attending the University of Arizona and as a pre-med major; Rachel Gall who is graduating from Coolidge High School in May 2012 and will attend the University of Arizona in the fall; Mayra Perez, currently attending the University of Arizona with the goal of becoming a physician; and Draylin Reeves, who is graduating from Vista Grande High School in Casa Grande and will be attending Central Arizona College in the fall to pursue pathology.
The CGRMC Auxiliary promotes and advances the hospital through volunteerism and fundraising. In addition to the scholarship program, each year the Auxiliary donates approximately $70,000 of equipment to the hospital to benefit patient care initiatives. The funds for these donations come from the Auxiliary’s annual golf tournament on the last Friday of October, as well as from other donations from sales.
