DSPA Gems, Inc. announces availability of up to $4,000 in performing arts grant money -- apply by April 30

Maricopa, AZ -- Desert Suns Performing Arts (DSPA) Gems, Inc. announced the availability of up to $4,000 in performing arts grant money. The local non profit, focusing on providing performing arts opportunities regardless of an individual’s ability meet financial obligations, is excited to offer this opportunity.
Shannon Wallace, DSPA Gems, Inc. President, stated that these funds are available due to the huge success of the Maricopa’s Annual City-Wide Daddy-Daughter Dance, which the non profit hosted on February 4. Over 280 people attended the event, and proceeds were raised from record-breaking ticket sales, the generous bidding on silent auction items, and the purchasing of flowers and song dedications.
The grant money will be given in a minimum of $100 increments, with the specification of applying money toward three areas. In order to qualify for grant money, you or your organization MUST meet the criteria within one of the following areas:
- Any children, in the state of Arizona, ages 2-18 years old, to provide the opportunity of performing arts education
- Any performing arts program, within the public school district, in the city of Maricopa, for program activities, opportunity, and/or supplies
- Any children, in the state of Arizona, ages 2-18 years old, who have medically documented developmental disabilities, cognitive disorders, or physical impairment (Additional requirements include providing copies of a current IEP, ISP, or doctor diagnosis reflecting the developmental disabilities, cognitive disorders, or physical impairment.)
Recipient[s] must be ages 2-18 years old, must be attending classes regularly, and following all applicable studio rules (if they are already attending a studio). Recipient must be able to show 'financial need,' per the debt-to-income ratio, or show qualifying papers for reduced or free lunch program through an Arizona public school for the current year. As always, applicants are selected by the DSPA Gems, Inc. selection committee based upon funds available and need.
