MARICOPA, AZ -- The City of Maricopa is scheduled to begin sealing the streets with slurry seal on Monday, March 19. The City conducts an annual preventive maintenance program including seal coating streets. As asphalt ages, it deteriorates from the harmful ultraviolet rays and from vehicles driving on the road. The purpose of the slurry seal is to provide a wearing surface that increases the overall lifespan of the road. Specifically, this product reduces cracking and pitting while increasing traction and smoothness.
When streets are sealed, please follow these instructions:
- Please do not drive on streets that have been recently treated and are coned off.
- Please slow down while passing through work zones and adhere to traffic control signs and flaggers.
The City has scheduled Bowlin Road between Porter Road and White and Parker Road; White and Parker Road from Farrell Road to Honeycutt Ave; and Smith-Enke Road from Desert Greens to White and Parker Road.
Thank you for your cooperation with this preventive maintenance project.
