Seven Ranches Planning Team Presentation Now Online

The American Planning Association (APA) has selected Seven Ranches, located immediately east of Porter Rd. and south of Honeycutt Rd., for a special project to help create a community vision plan.

The Community Planning Assistance Team gave a presentation of its findings and recommendations for the Seven Ranches Area last week. This presentation, along with background information and project updates, are now available online on the APA website.

On February 23, Mayor Smith gave his fourth State of the City address. The presentation highlighted the many exciting projects and activities taking place that are making 2012 a breakout year in Maricopa's development. 

Pinal County: Your Valuation Notice is on Its Way

Valuations for the 2013 tax year will be mailed to all individuals who own property in Pinal County. Valuations are set through formula prescribed by state statute. The formula has a lagging indicator meaning that the formula factors in sales of property in 2010 through June 2011.

Attend the Upcoming Heritage District Committee Public Forum -- Code modification forum to be held on March 8

In Fall 2011, in response to a request from the Heritage District Committee, City Council tasked the Committee with reviewing Chapter 10 of the City Code (Offenses) and proposing changes aimed at preventing future blight and health hazards in the Heritage District. As part of this process, the Committee is hosting a public forum on March 8 to present its proposed Code changes and gain community input.

Registration Now Open for Citizens Leadership Academy -- Register online today and join the Academy

The Maricopa Citizens Leadership Academy is a unique opportunity for citizens to learn about the City of Maricopa in order to foster a better understanding and working relationship between the two.

In order to participate in the program, you must live or work in the City of Maricopa and complete a registration form.

The class meets once a week for six weeks from March 13 to April 18. As the class is limited to 15 participants, we ask that you apply only if you are committed to attend. Each class runs from 6:30-8:30 P.M. and features presentations about different aspects of the City. The first class will be held on Tuesday, March 13 and all other classes will be held on Wednesday.

The City of Maricopa is hosting a special passport event on Saturday, March 10 from 10:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. to provide passport information to U.S. citizens and to accept passport applications. The City of Maricopa is joining the Department of State in celebrating Passport Day in the USA 2012, a national passport acceptance and outreach event.
