Please note that City offices will be closed on Monday, February 20, 2012 in observance of President's Day.

Stahl to be Ceremonially Sworn in at February 21 City Council Meeting

On Monday, February 13, Steve Stahl assumed the permanent role of Police Chief. He will be ceremonially sworn in as Police Chief during a ceremony at the February 21 City Council meeting.

Help Create an Exciting Future for Seven Ranches

The American Planning Association (APA) has selected Seven Ranches, located immediately east of Porter Rd. and south of Honeycutt Rd., for a special project to help create a community vision plan. Next week, a team of professional planners from around the country will come to Seven Ranches to listen to residents and local leaders talk about what they want for the future of their community.

A community meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 22 at 6:00 P.M. at Sequoia Pathway Academy, 19265 N. Porter Road. Then on Saturday, February 25, come and see the presentation of the findings and voice additional ideas about what you want for the Seven Ranches area and the City. The presentation meeting will begin at 2:30 P.M. at the Sequoia Pathway Academy.

VIN Etching Event to be Held March 3

On March 3, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., the City of Maricopa Police Department (MPD) will be conducting a VIN etching event in the Bashas' parking lot, located at 21044 N. John Wayne Parkway.

Etching your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) number serves as a permanent fingerprint of your vehicle. VIN etching is an effective visual deterrent against auto theft. In addition to the VIN etching, MPD will be providing a limited number of steering wheel clubs to VIN etching participants as well as information on the Watch Your Car decal program.

Central Arizona College (CAC) Redistricting Survey

The CAC Governing Board is in the process of finalizing a new Governing Board District map within Pinal County. The Governing Board sets the vision and direction of the CAC campuses. Two maps are being considered, called Draft Plan 2 and Draft Plan 3. The difference between the two maps is that in Draft Plan 3 the new Maricopa CAC Campus would be placed within the primarily Casa Grande based district. County residents of Pinal County are encouraged to vote online to indicate their preference by the end of the day on Monday, February 20.

Registration Now Open for Citizen Leadership Academy -- Register online today and join the Academy

The Maricopa Citizen Leadership Academy is a unique opportunity for citizens to learn about the City of Maricopa in order to foster a better understanding and working relationship.

In order to participate in the program you must live or work in the City of Maricopa and complete a registration form.

The class meets once per week for six weeks from March 13 to April 18. As the class is limited to 15 participants, we ask that you apply only if you are committed to attend.Each class runs from 6:30-8:30 P.M. and features presentations about different aspects of the City. The first class will be held on Tuesday, March 13 and all other classes will be held on Wednesday.
