MUSD to host "Read to Kids" Day -- January 26
Received article

On Thursday, January 26, 2012, from 8:30 A.M. to 2:30 P.M., any adult can come in and read to any Maricopa Unified School District (MUSD) preschool or kindergarten class -- by doing so, that classroom will receive a book for their classroom library.

This is an annual event in which the schools partner with United Way to increase early literacy skills and increase parent involvement and community support. Several organizations are already scheduled to participate, including Maricopa Fire Department, Maricopa Police Department, the City of Maricopa Manager, Mayor, and Ak-Chin Tribal Council.

Those who would like to participate can schedule a reading time at one of six MUSD elementary schools by contacting Ms. Lisa Hahn at (520) 568-5100 or lhahn@musd.org.
