FLORENCE, AZ -- The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) is pleased to announce the arrival of eight new deputies. The new members successfully completed 17 weeks of training at the Southern Arizona Law Enforcement Training Center in Tucson.
By the end of the academy, one deputy earned top honors among 53 recruits from every participating agency in southern Arizona. Joseph Kurcsics was awarded Top Marksman for hitting 100% of all targets during weapons training.
The new deputies were officially sworn in during a ceremony Thursday evening in Tucson. During the event, Sheriff Paul Babeu presented each deputy with their PCSO badge.
Sheriff Babeu stated, “I’m so proud of our eight new deputies, who graduated the academy after four months of rigorous training. They have been skilled in law, tactics, firearms, traffic and investigations. They are all in great physical condition and ready to join the ranks of Pinal County’s finest.”
