Computer Expert knows his stuff

We recently went through some serious computer difficulties. I had messages on my laptop stating I had a Trojan virus on it. Due to a power surge in our home, the power supply on my husband’s computer went out.
I received estimates and Raul Rivera at Computer Experts came in at the best price. So, we used his services. We found him to be very thorough in his work and very reasonable in his pricing.
With Computer Experts assistance, we got my husband’s computer up and running, only to find out that my son’s liquid cooled computer got fried at the same time; it turned out to be a pretty expensive power outage!
I got both my laptop & my husband’s tower worked on at Computer Experts, then took them home -- only to find that my husband’s monitor had been fried at the same time as the power supply. A couple of weeks later, the power supply on my laptop went out. (I’m still thinking this has to do with the power surge….)
Raul moved to Maricopa in 2006 along with his wife and seven children from Pleasant Valley, NY. People may have met him or family members for the first time at the 2006 Founders Day event. He was one of the vendors there that day.
Born in Brooklyn and raised in Yonkers, Raul started working with computers in 1993 in Poughkeepsie, NY. His first computer was a Commodore Vic 20 and he got to where he knew this machine inside and out. His actual job at the time was as a truck driver for the Salvation Army. They started receiving a lot of donations of computers and asked Raul if he knew how to repair them. Soon he was doing all the computer work for the Salvation Army. He’d worked out a deal where he’d use parts and scraps from unrepairable donated computers to create new operating systems, and they would provide him with an office for his budding business. When the systems were sold, Raul received 50% of what they sold them for. Ultimately, it was not profitable for the Salivation Army to continue doing this, so Raul kept on driving truck for them and moved his computer business to his home.
During this period Raul met his future wife, Gladys. While they were still engaged, Gladys, along with a partner, fronted enough money for Raul to open his first storefront business. His company – Computer Experts -- has been operating in the black since.
Friends from New York had moved to Queen Creek, so Raul and Gladys and their children, plus two grandchildren they are raising, packed up and moved west. They chose Maricopa for several reasons: the more rural setting, a small town atmosphere, and pricing on homes was more reasonable. Raul worked for a couple of years out of his home, then last fall, as a member of the Maricopa Chamber of Commerce, he opened up in the office next to the Chamber – an “incubator” office he worked out of until space became available in the Business Barn located at 19428 N. John Wayne Pkwy. He moved there in January this year and has had steady business since. The hours of operation are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The telephone number is (520) 705-5225 – or you can email him at computerexperts@orbitelcom.com.
