Come and join the fun! -- June 26th and 27th
STAFF WRITER

On Saturday and Sunday, June 26th and 27th, 2010, the Superstition Amateur Radio Club (SARC) is hosting their annual ARRL (American Radio Relay League) Field Day at Oak Flats Campground just off US 60 near Superior, Arizona. Amateur radio operators often provide a vital communication link when emergency or disaster strikes, as it did when Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast in 2005.

In this annual event, amateur radio operators will set up and operate HAM radios just for fun! Come and see what amateur radio is all about. All ham operators, those who would like to be ham operators, the public, and young people are invited to come and participate. You can even talk on a radio!

The event will run from 11:00 A.M. Saturday until 2:00 P.M. Sunday. Overnight (free) camping is available and there will be a potluck dinner on Saturday evening.

This is a great family-friendly event, a chance to “get out of town,” and an opportunity to learn what HAM radio is all about.
